Gaysorn Introduces Legendary Classic Fashion Icons
Give a First Peak of Latest Fashion Trend for Autumn/Winter 2010

Satima Tanabe, Deputy General Manager of Gaysorn Shopping Centre, welcomed Autumn/Winter 2010 collection by combining forces with leading world-class super brands: Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Dior, Celine, Fendi, Loewe, Emilio Pucci, Burberry, and Salvatore Ferragamo to exhibit must-have, classic fashion icons in “Gaysorn Trend Leader Concept A/W 2010” at Ground floor, Gaysorn Shopping Centre recently. The event was staged to reaffirm Gaysorn’s status as the trend leader and central hub for world-class brands. Gaysorn also invited the foremost “gurus” of Thai fashion:Kullawit Laosuksri, Editor-In-Chief of Elle Magazine, Nichakul Kitayanubhongse, Fashion Stylistof Harper’s Bazaar, and Apiwat Yodpraphan, Fashion Stylist of Praew, to give exclusive trend updates of the latest fashion collection of Autumn/Winter 2010.

Leading the pack of fashion icons were the symbol of luxury brands such as LouisVuitton’s Speedy Bag, Gucci’s Bamboo Bag, Prada’s Nylon as well as Lady Dior Bag, hottest Luggage line by famous Phoebe Philoof Celine, and Fendi Baguette. These leading brands were joined by Loewe Amazona, Printed Fabric by Emilio Pucci, Burberry classic Trench Coat and Vara buckle shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo.

Nichakul Kitayanubhongse, characterized these leading fashion icons as uniquely stand out, high-quality fashion items that can only be said as “must-have” for fashionistas of impeccable taste. He gave an example of Louis Vuitton‘s Speedy bag, which was designed to be an everyday bag emphasizing classic line and canvas monogram that was wildly popular in the 60’s when Audrey Hepburn ordered her bespoke smaller one for everyday use. Since then, Speedy has become a popular iconic travel items.

As for Gucci, their use of bamboo to create an iconic Bamboo Gucci bags has been famous since its introduction in 1947. Gucci had to resort to the combined creative power of the brand, at the time of metal scarce during WWII, to come up with novel use of new materials that maintained the exquisite mystique that is Gucci’s identity.

Going forward to the late 90’s, Black Nylon bag was popularized by Prada. Little known was that the Black Nylon bag’s roots reached as far back as the 70’s where Miuccia Prada continued the legacy of her grand father, Mario Prada, by introducing this iconic “new” look that ended up wildly imitated by many fashion brands.

Some other iconic fashions worthy of mention were Lady Dior bag, which was created in honor of Princess Diana in 1995 and incorporated iconic Cannage imprint, the Dior’s signature mark, right on the bag.

Fendi‘s Baguette may look like a simple geometric bag, yet full of luxurious details that arouse the desire in women to own and hold them close at hand. The allure of the bag drew many of the Hollywood A-lists such as Madonna, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Julia Roberts.

Printed Fabric by the Prince of Prints, Emilio Pucci himself were known for unique juxtaposition of form and color, be it graphic, vintage or abstract prints. The subtle uses of lemon, pink, mauve, sky blue, and almond have become Emilio Pucci’s signature until these days.

Amazona bags from Loewe have become favorite bags on high society women from the royal family to Hollywood royalties such as Angelina Jolie and Sienna Miller. While the bag had just celebrated its 35th anniversary recently, Loewe’s roots reached as far back as 160 years ago in Spain. The bag achieved its iconic status due to it’s classic design and utilities that works any time, day or night.

Burberry, Art of the Trench is a living celebration of the Burberry Trench Coat and the people who wear it, created by Thomas Burberry who was a pioneer in the field of fabric technology and functional design. His legacy of design and innovation continues and become and icon until nowadays.

Some iconic fashion came about through luck. However, the Vara Buckle from Italian’s Salvatore Ferragamo came about in 1978 via a small mistake in manufacturing by Fiamma Ferragamo, Salvatore and Vanda’s oldest daughter. The result was a sport pump that is both comfortable and elegant to wear and has become wildly popular.

The other highlight in the Gaysorn Trend Leader Concept A/W 2010 was Trend Update by Ford-Kullawit Laosuksri, Editor In-Chief of Elle Magazine, who provided an up-to-date catwalk trends around the world. Kullawit said “The trend this season differs so much that it can be called “Clean & Sober Winter” breaking new ground from the boring, same old, same old trend that came before. Providing the inspiration for the new trend is the famous Phoebe Philo who combined the right mix of strong and delicate quality to come up with a purist elegance that combined with retro curvy look of the 50’s made famous by Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Princess Grace Kelly and the leading TV series “Mad Men”. The key look of this season is an update of that time period, the form fitting top and long flowing skirt cut from tweet, flower prints, or checker fabric in gray, caramel, asparagus green, pastel, or pop art inspired color. This married with bowed, low-rise flat shoe and small lady’s bag make a perfect look.”

In the show, Gaysorn also brought ready-to-wear collection A/W 2010 from various design houses led by Ermenegildo Zegna, Emilio Pucci, Hugo Boss, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bally, Aigner, La Perla, Nina Ricci by Cloud 9, MaxMara, Daks, and Kwanpen for all fashionistas to sneak a peak at the fashion show of the new season before others.
