Panumas fashion houseby Panumas Chirathivat celebrates its grand opening in fabulous style today by turning the 23rd floor of the Centara Grand Hotel at CentralWorld into a stylish catwalk. More than 20 honorary and professional models take to the runway to show off 40-plus glamorous designs from Panumas’s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection.

Designer Panumas Chirathivat, owner of La Mode Panumas Co., Ltd., said that as a leader in sophisticated women’s eveningwear, Panumas is known for classically elegant evening dresses featuring distinct draping and gathering techniques. Every design is created to compliment a lady’s individual style and thus features different styles of draping crafted to fit the wearer’s body and personality.
“The grand opening is meant to present a clear image of Panumas as a creator of elegant evening dresses,” says the couturiere. “We pay attention to every detail, from creating unique designs to selecting high-quality materials in trendy colors. Most importantly, each outfit is designed to suit the modern lifestyles of today’s women. Today’s event features a special fashion show designed to present Panumas’s brand identity. The party takes its visual theme from a fabric print designed by my nine-year-old daughter Fen Atipa, which we have made into an elegant scarf to give to our guests as a souvenir.”
Catering to stylish ladies, Panumas’s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection features evening dresses that embody understated elegance yet contain a wealth of finely crafted details. Classical in style but with a marked femininity that is the brand’s signature, the collection also features dresses made of silk, satin, silk chiffon, cotton and jersey that can go from day to evening.

Modeling the 40-plus dresses on the runway are honorary and professional models including Apasara Hongsakula, Sukta Chirathivat, Nualpan Osthananda, Somkamol Vejjajiva, Orranart Smutharakh, Naddaram Pachimsawat, Sikan Assarat, Narissa Amornvivat, Sireethorn Karasudhi, Tatim Rucksajit, Yossawadee Hasadeevijit, Organ Rasri Vacharapolmek, Namthip Jongrachatavibul, Marisa Anita, Malini Adelaide Coates, Neeranart Victoria Coates, Pichsinee Tanviboon, Sarah Ball, Passayamay Narbonne and Susie Susira Angelina Naenna Model and TV personality Kay Chollada Mekratri takes the mic as an emcee. Guests of honor Khunying Suchitra Mongkolkitti, Suthikiati Chirathivat, Apasra Hongsakula, Bowornporn Suthiwanichand Pichitra Boonyarattapan join owner Panumas Chirathivat at the official opening ceremony.
Located on the 23rd floor of the Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Panumas was founded by Panumas Chirathivat. The granddaughter of the late legendary couturiere Ajarn Lumyong Boonyarattapan of Rapee couture house and dressmaking institute, she grew up watching her grandmother work and became interested in fashion design at a young age. Trained in hospitality, she started out working for top hotels but later decided to follow her first love and study fashion design at L’Ecole Fleuri Delaporte in Paris, the world’s leading fashion city, in order to become a designer and found her own brand.
As a label, Panumas is known for the understated elegance of its designs, which marry the classical with the contemporary and feature the designer’s signature draping and cowl-neck details. In addition to ready-to-wear, Panumas offers custom-made cocktail dresses, sacks, trousers and evening dresses that are the ultimate in refined craftsmanship.
Available in sizes S, M and L, all designs can be custom-made using the materials, colors and details chosen by the client. Tops are priced between 2,750-3,750 baht. Dress prices start at 5,750 baht while dresses made of silk, satin, silk satin or silk chiffon start from just over 10,000 baht.
