เพื่อร่วมฉลองวันชาติอินเดีย ซึ่งตรงกับวันที่ 15 สิงหาคมของทุกปี และสานความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสาธารณรัฐอินเดีย และประเทศไทยให้ยิ่งแน่นแฟ้น สถานทูตอินเดียประจำประเทศไทย จับมือ ศูนย์การค้า สยามพารากอน ร่วมเฉลิมฉลองวาระสำคัญนี้ด้วยการจัดงาน “Siam Paragon Incredible India Week ระหว่างวันที่ 15 – 18 สิงหาคม นี้ ณ สยามพารากอน นำเสนอมนต์เสน่ห์อันรุ่มรวย แห่งแดนภารตะ หรูหราตระการตากับแฟชั่นโชว์พัสตราภรณ์อินเดียร่วมสมัย จากสองดีไซเนอร์ระดับแนวหน้าของอินเดีย Joy Mitra (จอย มิทรา) และ Vikram Phadnis (วิคราม พัดนีส์), การแสดง “Bharatanatyam” หรือ ภารตนาฏยา ระบำบูชา เทพเจ้าซึ่งถือเป็นนาฏศิลป์ที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดของอินเดีย, การเชิดสิงโตและจามรีแบบอินเดีย รวมทั้งการจัดแสดงผลงานหัตถศิลป์มรดกทางอารยธรรมอันล้ำค่าแห่งราชสำนักอินเดีย ตลอดจนการสาธิตและจำหน่ายผลงานหัตกรรมจากช่างฝีมือชาวอินเดีย พร้อมร่วมลิ้มลองอาหารอินเดีย ชา และกาแฟเลิศรสสูตรต้นตำรับ อีกทั้งยังเปิดโอกาสให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้เลือกสรรแพ็คเกจ ที่หลายคนใฝ่ฝัน เพื่อจะได้สัมผัสความงดงามของแหล่งอารยธรรมที่เก่าแก่แห่งหนึ่งของโลก

โดยพิธีเปิดงานจัดขึ้นในวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 15 สิงหาคม นี้ เวลา 18.00 น. ณ ฮอลล์ ออฟ มิเรอร์ ชั้น M สยามพารากอน ซึ่งได้รับเกียรติจาก นายอนิล วาธวา เอกอัคราชทูตอินเดียประจำประเทศไทย เป็นประธาน โดยไฮไลท์ของงานจัดให้มีแฟชั่นโชว์ชุดประจำชาติที่ถือเป็นเอกลักษณ์อันโดดเด่นของอินเดียมาจัดแสดงอย่างเต็มรูปแบบครั้งแรกในประเทศไทย ผลงานการออกแบบของสองดีไซเนอร์ระดับแนวหน้าของอินเดีย จอย มิทรา และ วิคราม พัดนีส์ ที่ให้เกียรติบินตรงจากอินเดีย เพื่อนำคอลเลคชั่นล่าสุดมาอวดโฉมให้คนไทยได้ชมเพื่องานนี้โดยเฉพาะ โดย จอย มิทรา เป็นแฟชั่นดีไซเนอร์หนุ่มชื่อดังที่มีสไตล์การออกแบบที่เน้นความเรียบง่ายแต่งามสง่า โดดเด่นด้วยการผสมผสานสีสันและกลิ่นอายร่วมสมัยที่ยังคงไว้ซึ่ง ความงดงามตามแบบฉบับอินเดียได้อย่างชัดเจน และยังเป็นผู้ออกแบบเสื้อผ้าให้กับภาพยนตร์และดาราบอลลีวูดมากมาย ซึ่งครั้งนี้ จอย มิทรา นำเสนอผลงานการออกแบบเพื่อฉลองครบรอบ 100 ปีของภาพยนตร์บอลลีวูด ที่ถ่ายทอด มนต์เสน่ห์และสีสันแห่งบอลลีวูด ด้วยลายปักแสนวิจิตร และลายพิมพ์สีสด
ส่วน วิคราม พัดนีส์ เป็นที่รู้จักในฐานะดีไซเนอร์เจ้าของผลงานการออกแบบที่วิจิตรงดงาม ซึ่งมีทั้งผลงานแฟชั่นระดับกูตูร์, ชุดเจ้าสาวสไตล์อินเดีย และ เสื้อผ้า ready-to-wear (เรดี้-ทู-แวร์) ที่สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความงามและแนวคิดล้ำสมัย ซึ่งผลงานของเขายังได้สร้างชื่อเสียงไกลถึงชิคาโก้ ดูไบ ซาอุดิอาระเบีย คูเวต โยฮันเนสเบิร์ก และอีกหลายประเทศ โดยวิคราม พัดนีส์ อวดโฉมผลงานระดับกูตูร์ที่ถ่ายทอดความร่าเริงแห่งจิตวิญญาณ เพื่อร่วมฉลองในโอกาสสำคัญนี้ ที่ผสมผสานความสร้างสรรค์เข้ากับบรรดาสรรพสีสัน อันสดใส ทั้งส้ม เหลือง เขียวสด สีเขียวมิ้นท์ ไปจนถึงทองครีม งาช้าง พร้อมฝีมือการ จับเดรปสุดประณีต ซึ่งดีไซเนอร์ทั้งคู่ได้นำเสนอผลงานบนเวทีแฟชั่นวีคชั้นนำของอินเดียอย่างต่อเนื่อง และเป็นที่ชื่นชอบของเหล่าดาราบอลลีวูดระดับแนวหน้ามากมาย และสำหรับแฟชั่นโชว์ชุดพิเศษในพิธีเปิดงานครั้งนี้ ถ่ายทอดโดยเหล่านางแบบระดับอินเตอร์ชาวอินเดีย ร่วมด้วย พิ้งกี้-สาวิกา ไชยเดช ดาราสาวไทยที่กำลังฉายแสงในวงการบอลลีวูด และดาราสาว สุดเซ็กซี่ ปู-ไปรยา สวนดอกไม้ ที่จะมาร่วมเฉิดฉายในชุดส่าหรีสุดอลังการบนแคทวอล์ค
พร้อมกันนี้ ในพิธีเปิดงานยังจัดให้มีการแสดง “Bharatanatyam” หรือ ภารตนาฏยา ซึ่งเป็นนาฏศิลป์ที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดของอินเดีย มีต้นกำเนิดมาจากรัฐทมิฬนาฑูทางตอนใต้ของอินเดีย มีรากฐานมาจากการรำถวายพระพรเทพเจ้า ในศาสนาฮินดู ลีลาการระบำนั้นรวดเร็ว มีท่าทางและจังหวะชัดเจนสื่อความหมายด้วยมือและสื่ออารมณ์ผ่านสีหน้า นักระบำ แต่งกายอย่างวิจิตรงดงาม ร่ายรำไปพร้อมการขับร้องและบรรเลงดนตรีด้วยเครื่องดนตรีโบราณ ได้แก่ ไวโอลิน และ กลอง สองหน้า นับเป็นการผสมผสานความงดงามแห่งนาฏยลีลากับท่วงทำนองอันไพเราะแห่งคีตศิลป์อย่างแท้จริง โดยศิลปิน นักระบำผู้เชี่ยวชาญนาฏศิลป์ภารตะนาฏยาระดับแนวหน้าของอินเดีย Meenakshi Srinivasan (มีนาคชี่ ชรีนีวาซัน) ศิลปินแห่งสภาความสัมพันธ์วัฒนธรรมอินเดีย ซึ่งได้รับเกียรติให้เป็นผู้ถ่ายทอดนาฏศิลป์อันทรงคุณค่านี้ในหลากหลายประเทศ ทั่วโลก ทั้งในยุโรป อเมริกาเหนือ และในเอเชีย ทั้งสิงคโปร์ มาเลเซีย
โดยตั้งแต่วันนี้จนถึง 18 สิงหาคมนี้ ภายในงานยังได้จัดให้มีการแสดงเชิดสิงโตและจามรีแบบอินเดีย โดยคณะ “Tawang Snow Lion” (ทาวาง สโนว์ ไลอ้อน) จากรัฐอรุณาจัลประเทศ ในโอกาสเฉลิมฉลองวาระสำคัญนี้เพื่อสื่อถึง สันติสุขและความเจริญรุ่งเรือง ณ บริเวณ ฮอลล์ ออฟ เฟม ชั้น M ยังมีนิทรรศการ “Royal Fables” (รอยัล เฟเบิลส์) จัดแสดงมรดกหัตถ์ศิลป์อันทรงคุณค่าแห่งราชสำนักอินเดีย โดยเหล่าพระบรมวงศานุวงศ์แห่งอินเดียผู้อุปถัมภ์ อนุรักษ์ และเผยแพร่ศิลปะและงานหัตถ์ศิลป์แขนงต่างๆ ได้เดินทางมาจัดร่วมแสดงผลงานชิ้นสำคัญนอกประเทศอินเดีย เป็นครั้งแรก อาทิ ชุดส่าหรีที่ทอและปักประดับอย่างวิจิตร, เครื่องประดับของเจ้าสาวในพิธีวิวาห์, เครื่องประดับจิวเวอรี่, ภาพวาด, งานศิลปะการเคลือบลงยา และอีกมากมาย
อีกทั้ง ที่บริเวณแฟชั่น แกลเลอรี่ ชั้น 1 และ ไลฟ์สไตล์ ฮอลล์ ชั้น 2 พบกับการสาธิตการสร้างสรรค์และจำหน่ายงานหัตถกรรมอินเดียโดยช่างฝีมือชาวอินเดีย ทั้งการถักเครื่องประดับจากเส้นด้ายที่ทำด้วยเงินบริสุทธิ์จาก รัฐอานธรประเทศ, การปักลายผ้าอันปราณีตวิจิตรจากอุตตระประเทศ และ การวาดภาพจากศิลปินชาวชัยปุระ นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถดื่มด่ำกับรสชาติของกาแฟคุณภาพเยี่ยมและความหอมกรุ่นของใบชาจากแหล่งปลูกชาคุณภาพของอินเดีย อาทิ เมืองดาร์จีลิง, รัฐอัสสัม และเทือกเขานิลคีรี อีกทั้งเปิดโอกาสให้นักท่องเที่ยวได้เลือกสรรแพ็คเกจสุดพิเศษ จากหน่วยงานการท่องเที่ยวอินเดีย และสายการบินชั้นนำ ที่พร้อมจะให้คำแนะนำในการท่องเที่ยวและเดินทางในทุกจุดหมาย อาทิ รัฐโอริสสา มนต์เสน่ห์แห่งอินเดียตะวันออก และรัฐสิกขิม ดินแดนแห่งอ้อมกอดภูเขาหิมาลัย หรือรัฐอุตตรประเทศ ที่เป็นที่ตั้งของเมืองสำคัญทางพุทธศาสนามากมาย และพลาดไม่ได้กับ “Taste of India” เทศกาลอาหารอินเดียแบบต้นตำรับกับหลากเมนู ความอร่อยจากร้านอาหารอินเดียชั้นนำที่บริเวณ ฟู้ด เฟส มาร์เก็ต ฮอลล์ ชั้น G สยามพารากอน
To celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of India on August 15 and to mark the long-standing historical and cultural ties between India and Thailand, the Embassy of India and Siam Paragon Shopping Center are holding “Siam Paragon Incredible India Week” from today to 18 August 2013, at Siam Paragon Shopping Center. The event features contemporary fashion by celebrated Indian designers; Joy Mitra and Vikram Phadnis and the historical Indian classical dance “Bharatanatyam.”
Featured also are the “Royal Fables,” that showcases imperial Indian legacies created by designers of royal descent. Visitors can also explore exotic Indian heritages through the live handicraft demonstration from Indian master craftsmen and enjoy browsing through extensive selections of ethnic handicrafts. A traditional ‘lion and yak’ dance is also staged. Presented also are rich flavours of Indian cuisine, finest tea and coffee from India. The event also opens a window to the country through the many tourism destinations of India.
HE Anil Wadhwa, Ambassador of India to Thailand, said, “For centuries, India and Thailand have shared cultural and diplomatic ties – culture, tradition, religion, beliefs as well as language, literature and arts. ‘Siam Paragon Incredible India Week’ is another great opportunity for cultural exchange. “Siam Paragon Incredible India Week” started on Thursday 15 August 2013 at Hall of Mirrors, M floor, Siam Paragon. Specially staged only at the opening ceremony were the fashion shows of glamorous Indian national costume with a contemporary twist by Joy Mitra and Vikram Phadnis. The two top Indian fashion figures have showcased their collections in numerous Indian fashion weeks and are the most sought-after designers among Bollywood stars.
Joy Mitra’s design philosophy is to keep his clothes simple, yet elegant and beautiful. The label is synonymous with style and elegance and colour. He is also a costume designer for numerous Bollywood films. The talented designer brought to Thailand his latest collection inspired by the magic of Bollywood charm.
Vikram Phadnis’s creations spell fashion and style. Grace and aristocracy are reflected in all of his designs. Bright colours and vivid ornamentation reflect his signature style. He has designed clothes for numerous celebrities and eminent personalities of the country. His line of bridal wear is famous for its cut and refined embellishments. His collections are also available in Chicago, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Johannesburg. Vikram Phadnis presented his latest collection in a celebration of vivacious and buoyant spirits. Thai up-and-coming Bollywood star Pinky – Sawika Chaidej and actress Poo–Praiya Suandokmai modelled traditional Indian costumes by the two designers.
The opening night also featured “Bharatanatyam,” the classical dance form originated in Tamil Nadu in the southern part of India. It was originally a sacred temple dance to Hindu gods. The dance encompasses music and rhythm characterized by powerful and dynamic geometrical and expressive movements and facial expression. The dance is performed by Indian dancer and choreographer of high repute Meenakshi Srinivasan. The performance is accompanied by melodious vocals and southern Indian Carnatic classical music. The instruments used are mridangam, the classic double-sided drum of southern India, and violin.
From today until 18 August, a traditional lion and yak dance “Tawang Snow Lions” from Arunachal Pradesh is staged to bring luck and prosperity. ‘Royal Fables’ exhibition, a cultural platform showcasing rich imperial Indian heritage including textiles, paintings, jewellery, costumes and fashion created by designers of royal descent is showcased at Hall of Flame, M floor. Royal family members of India who are patrons of these majestic art and craft heritages will also graciously take part in the festivities. Presented at Fashion Gallery on the 1st Floor is an ethnic handicraft demonstration by master craftsmen including silver filigree ornaments, miniature paintings, Chikankari or a delicate fabric embroidery, wood carving calligraphy and metal carving. Available also is an extensive array of handicrafts for sale.
Showcased at Lifestyle Hall on the 2nd Floor are selections of finest tea and coffee from Darjeeling, Assam and Nilgiri. Also on offer are travel packages and best deals from airlines to destinations such as Odisha, the soul of India, the exotic Himalayas in Sikkim and the Buddhist religious fervor Uttar Pradesh. Visitors can also enjoy authentic Indian cuisine at “Taste of India”, at Food Fest Market Hall, G Floor, Siam Paragon.
