Silk Chiffon

Busardi’s Success During London Fashion Week and Beyond

Busardi’s first London Fashion Week show for Autumn/Winter 2014 attracted some of the world’s most influential editors, pinpointing the house’s 65-year old heritage on the London fashion map alongside Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Erdem and Christopher Kane.

The coveted show, which filled the exhibition space of Covent Garden’s luxurious, One Aldwych to capacity on the second day of London Fashion Week attracted a wealth of guests – culminating in catwalk coverage on the likes of Vogue UK and Glamour UK.

Notable attendees also included editors from some of London’s most reputable independent publications, such as Schön! Magazine, Notion, STYLEFAN, The Untitled Magazine, PHOENIX, Stylenoir and We Are Colliison, alongside Marie Haim-Swarovski – nodding to rumours that a future collaboration with Swarovski is in store for next season. Other attendees included included stylists who work across music, film, television and celebrity, as well as Annaliese Dayes from Britain’s Next Top Model, Jade Ellis of The X Factor, delegates from the Mayor’s Office and a myriad of the city’s top fashion bloggers

It was the ‘Thorns’ collection that caught the eyes of V&A film director, Craig Bilham and producer, Mark Londsdale, who approached Busardi with the idea to turn the sartorial narrative underlining the collection into a fashion film. ‘Dissociative’ has quickly garnered a cult following amongst fashion film critics and the end result puts Busardi firmly beside some of fashion’s most celebrated brands.

“Seeing the Busardi AW14 collection come to life in ‘Dissociative’ was beautiful. The haunting backdrop, dark feathers, horns and candle lighting highlighted our darker and sinister collection for fall where our once demure girl was defiled into the wicked world in a sartorial narrative based around evil roses and thorns. The film portrays different personalities of one girl – her soul turning darker towards the end of the film which coincides with the darker desires of our woman this season. It was such a pleasure to work with Craig, Mark and the entire Leap team on this film,” says Tuck Muntarbhorn.
