Silhouette & Technique

Secret Garden of Cecilia – the Spring/Summer 2015 collection

La Boutique escapes the heat to find sanctuary in a secret garden where refreshing floral prints and 70’s silhouette come to meet, creating unique designs of summery romance for every woman.

The picturesque Tallis Mansion is surrounded by vibrant colours of the summer, as romance between noble lady Cecilia and humble commoner Robbie starts to bloom. The impossible, yet truly exhilarating, love story of the young couple is so captivating it overshadows the ranging scene of World World II. A timeless classic penned by Ian McEwan, “Atonement” became the inspiration for “To” Patcharawat Trakarnsantikul, Creative Director of La Boutique, to create feminine, delicate womenswear that alludes to the blooming love of the hero and the heroine with botanic floral prints and black and white palette to hint the innocent side and the underlying tragic side of this fateful love.

“Summer for a lot of people means vibrant, bright colors, but for La Boutiques, summer is love” La Boutique’s Creative Director explains. “Secret Garden of Cecilia narrates elements of a woman’s emotion and feeling towards romantic relationship. Cecilia, the heroine, falls deeply in love and immerses in the sweet passion of love that she has to keep secret. The tragic part is when the couple is forcefully parted, and Cecilia spends eternity waiting for his return.

“So the overall concept of the collection is the implementation of different shades of soft colours with floral prints on delicate silhouette of 70’s fashion. Each look is completed with floral embroidery in classic colour on exceptional materials, which makes the item much for interesting.”

Modern women’s carefree lifestyle is reinterpreted with mix-and-match approach where everyone can create and own their unique look. One inspiration is the fashion spirit of Lou Lou de la Falaise, one of the most iconic fashion muses, who artfully mixes high fashion with Bohemian flair – just like La Boutique women that are open for new ideas while at the same time know how to draw attention with their outstanding, sensual looks.

Silhouette & Technique

70’s silhouette that is both sensual and sweet complimented with delicate lines that are luxurious yet comfortable is the main idea of the collection. The highlight is the mix-and-match play with layers. Key items include see-through oversized coat adorned with floral embroidery on various different materials, which help add dimension and uniqueness to the item. Another one is chiffon jump suit and flare trousers that camouflages imperfection of the body and at the same time create perfect overall look for the wearers. Highlight of the collection also expands to the luxurious, neat cutting. Such sartorial craftsmanship can be seen on sequinned evening gown with feathers that combine the best of techniques and materials in one.

Fabrics

Luxurious, delicate fabrics are selected for this collection to grab attention, with chiffon being used the most throughout the whole series. Inspired by the secret summer garden filled with blooming flowers, La Boutique also implements botanic floral prints such as Bellefleur to sweeten the luxurious feminine look.
