New season of Russian fashion starts with terrific surprise:
Moscow Fashion Week today announces the change of its name
as a result of collaboration with Scandinavian luxury
car brand VOLVO, which became the Title sponsor of the event.
VOLVO FASHION WEEK IN MOSCOW is the new name of Russian
fashion and a new name at the world fashion events arena.
More than 50 designers make their fashion shows at Volvo
Fashion Week Moscow. Among them are those known internationally and
taking part in fashion weeks all aver the world: Valentin
Yudashkin, Igor Chapurin, Victoria Andreanova, Alena Akhmadullina.
Valentin Yudashkin is going to present Volvo C 30
Yudashkin Edition at his show, designed by the maestro
of Russian fashion specially for Scandinavian brand.
Another newsbreak is the sensational return to the Gostiny
Dvor runway of Alena Akhmadullina, the most promising Russian
designer of new generation. One more point of interest
is the catwalk of the youngest Russian designer Kira
Plastinina, whose international debut at Milano Moda Donna was
highly estimated by Italian fashion critics.
One more sensation at Volvo Fashion Week Moscow is the
show of popular British brand TOPMAN which is presented
in Moscow exclusively right after London Fashion Week.
Background.
The background of the event is a 14-years old story of success. All famous designers made their
presentations there over these years: Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Costume
National, Antonio Berardi, Fendi, Viviene Westwood, Julien Macdonald,
Emanuel Ungaro, Alessandro Dell’ Acqua, Paco Rabanne, Sonia Rykiel,
Nina Ricci, Missoni, Krizia, Byblos, Trussardi, Lanvin, Emilio Pucci,
Pierre Balmain, People of the Labyrinths.
Volvo Fashion Week Moscow (till 2009 — Moscow Fashion Week)
is considered to be the most significant event
in Russian fashion and is traditionally held under the
patronage of Moscow Government.
The format of Volvo Fashion Week Moscow combines catwalks and exhibition show-rooms in Gostiny Dvor.
Gostiny Dvor, the fascinating venue is situated on Red
Square and is considered to be an architectural
treasure.
Volvo Fashion Week Moscow demonstrates the best of Russian
fashion design: Valentine Yudashkin, Slava Zaitsev, Igor Chapurin,
Sergey Sysoev, Aleksandr Terekhov, Ilya Shiyan, Natasha Drigant, Sergey
Efremov and others.
Every year Volvo Fashion Week Moscow attracts over 150,000
visitors from Russia and abroad, including designers, buyers, PRs,
fashion critics, glossy editors and TV crews.
