HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana reveals
SIRIVANNAVARI’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection
under the theme ‘THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH’

HRH Princess Sirivannavari reveals SIRIVANNAVARI’s Spring/Summer 2010 Ready-to-Wear and Accessories Collection, which was created with the underlying concept of “The World is Not Enough”. This collection reflects the blissful lifestyle of the Mediterranean in Summer.

SIRIVANNAVARI’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collection is inspired by the idyllic lifestyle along the sapphire-blue Mediterranean Sea in southern Europe; ranging from Santorini Island in Greece to Capri in Italy, from the stylish elegance of the French Riviera to the serene of North Africa like Cairo of Egypt. HRH Princess Sirivannavari has distilled the iconic details of Mediterranean culture and interpreted them into a singular fashion language under the concept “The World is Not Enough”. The collection conveys a sexy and relaxed feel, while maintaining a distinctly modern and stylish look. The unique aspect of this collection is the series of hand-drawn images created by the multi-talented Princess, art pieces that are displayed at the “HOW I SEE IT” Exhibition. These hand drawings were incorporated into distinctive graphic patterns that comprise an integral part of the collection.

HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana states: “While I was working in Europe, I had the opportunity to travel and experience the lifestyle of those who live along the Mediterranean. I took particular notice of the manner of dress and the colors worn in that region, which is similar to Thailand in terms of climate and proximity to the beach and sea. It is from this inspiration that the concept of my latest collection evolved. I dedicated myself to a detailed study of Mediterranean art and culture, reinterpreted those sources of inspiration, and then incorporated them into my concept utilizing the exquisite cutting techniques that are a trademark of the “SIRIVANNAVARI” brand. In creating a new design structure for the collection, the various hues of fabric were joined together through this distinctive technique and evolved into the “Sailor look” outfit, to which I brought a more sensual feel with the inclusion of a special draping technique at the back of the outfit. The traditional gypsy skirt structure becomes more elegant with the use of tulle and chiffon, while the kaftan and cocktail dress looks are made more fashionable through the reinterpretation of an asymmetric structure”.

The Women’s Collection Spring/Summer 2010 offers a total of 48 outfits representing a feminine, elegantly sexy look utilizing an array of cutting techniques. The semi-couturé cutting technique is applied to casual outfits, providing younger women with a more ‘dashing’ style for every occasion – from casual looks to modern cocktail dresses to flowing evening dresses.  The collection is replete with Mediterranean touches in both detail and decoration,

including oversized three-quarter pants, mu’umu’us and kaftans. These looks become more elegant and stylish with high quality fabrics and materials such as silk chiffon, silk satin, tulle, beads, and gold thread, and are made even more chic for the season with vibrant colors like coral red, golden bronze, and lime green. The Mediterranean concept is maintained in the color scheme with the inclusion of white, ivory, and navy.

The unique graphics that grace the collection are hand drawings created by the Princess, including such images as the heart and peacock feather. These details can be admired in the gold-cropped trousers worn with the striped sailor graphic shirt, in which various hues of fabric are combined, creating a striped pattern in white and navy. A delightful dress combines a draped shirt worn with a gypsy skirt in tulle and silk chiffon. The cocktail dress in lamé is accented with silk chiffon creating a striped graphic look made sexier through draping at the back. The kaftan with fine fluid hem in satin is embellished with a heart graphic print. The long evening dress in tulle and silk chiffon evokes images of a Greek goddess with embroidered beads and a golden thread through the delicate craftsmanship that is SIRIVANNAVARI’s signature.

Fashion accessories for Spring/Summer 2010 offer as much variety as the Ready-to-Wear collection. Vibrant necklaces in hues such as vivid red, electric fuchsia, burnt orange, mustard yellow, sky blue, and turquoise are embroidered with corals, seashells, colorful stones, crystals, and beads. Graphic print scarves come in an array of designs inspired by the hand drawings illustrated by the Princess, including hearts, skulls and penguins. These accessories create distinctive new styles when worn with exquisite Sirivannavari outfits.

Leather accessories for Spring/Summer 2010 include bags and shoes in a range of colors, including white, navy, red, and beige. HRH Princess Sirivannavari has created two signature styles for this season’s shoes. One look is a sandal, and the other is a strappy high heel shoe with half platform, available in white with navy trim, and in beige with brown trim. The clutch bag in heart graphic print fabric ties with a delightfully feminine bow. The shoulder bag comes in lined white and navy material, while the stylish bag features a leather ribbon as its drawstring.

The Men’s Spring/Summer Collection 2010 “S’Homme” is comprised of 8 looks, also under the Mediterranean style concept. The collection interprets the casually relaxed character of the man free from overt attention to detail, while maintaining a unique style in every move. The key color tones are white, natural beige, navy and black. The collection offers looks from shirts to shorts. The specialty is bright red scarf and panama hat, backpack and handbag made of linen. T-shirt design is inspired by the surroundings the princess has seen from a young sailor to the yacht owner. Lastly the trousers with drawstrings, including the linen shirt pleated at the front with a trimmed collar in black.
